Mushrooms against Viruses
Mushrooms are one of the products that play an important role in maintaining the immune system.
A group of scientists from the Agricultural Research Service conducted a study of cell culture, indicating that white button mushrooms enhance the activity of critical cells in the body’s immune system by increasing the production of antiviral and other proteins released by cells to protect and repair tissue.
People should have an adequate supply of biologically active nutrients to get a good protection against pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. Mushrooms are a good source of such nutrients.
Moreover, mushrooms do not lose their properties when heat processed. So feel free to cook soups, sauces, casseroles and other dishes from mushrooms, especially during flu epidemics.
