In February the city of Verona housed a Sol d’Oro olive oil world championship. 10 countries that produce the oil globally participated in the contest for the best product: Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Lebanon and Croatia.
An international team of judges determined what oil samples are the best in different denominations. Of 15 championship awards Italian olive oil collected 13, and Spanish olive oil took the remaining 2, which goes to confirm that Italian oil is the best.
From now on the winners’ label will carry the logotype of the championship – Sol d’Oro.
