The latest news about beer will gladden the hearts of all admirers of this foamy drink made from hop. Beer contains humulone, a natural antibiotic, protecting from potentially harmful microgerms that cause running nose, bronchitis, and pneumonia.
The only problem is there is so little humulone in beer that one has to down 20 cans before it will have any effect – but it’s absurd, of course.
That’s why Sapporo Breweries’ brewing experts are thinking of producing non-alcoholic beverages with a large concentration of humulone.
But it presents another problem in turn – the substance has a bitter taste, so brewers and experts will have to think of the ways to disguise the bitterness.
