Prunes Help to Lose Weight
A research conducted at the University of Liverpool revealed that eating prunes as part of a balanced weight loss diet can help to lose weight.
Although frequent dried fruit consumption is not recommended for those who want to lose weight, the research was aimed at checking whether prunes help to lose weight or prevent it, in the 12-week period .
The experiment participants were divided into two groups – those who ate prunes every day (140 gr. per day for women and 170 gr. for men) and those who had other healthy snacks throughout the day during the active weight loss period.
The researchers found that the group that ate prunes as a snack during the day lost an average of 5 kg, as well as 2.5-3 cm in waist volume. Despite high daily portions, prunes were well assimilated.
People in the second group, who had other healthy snacks, lost less weight and had a wider waist.
Professor Jason Halford, who led the research, said these results well demonstrated how to lose weight with no negative side effects just eating prunes. Prunes can be useful to suppress hunger. After all, hunger is a serious problem when you are trying to maintain the lost weight in a long-term perspective.
To keep to a healthy diet is challenging. Therefore, nutritionists recommend eating dried fruit along with fresh fruit and vegetables. They can be a useful and convenient addition to any diet.
