Egg Alarm in Germany
A number of poultry farms in Germany (mostly in Southern Saxony) stopped working because it had been found that the eggs contain the dangerous poison dioxin.
It happened because technical fat was used in the production of fodder for hens and turkeys. As the result he content of dioxin in the birds’ meat and eggs is twice the warrantable amount.
It is harmful for people’s health, being especially dangerous for pregnant women and children, for dioxin causes physical defects, oncologic and other kinds of illnesses.
It will be several weeks until the problem has been solved. Meanwhile the manufacturers advise to buy products marked bio, which means that they were produced using non-polluting materials and technology.
