Pumpkin Skin Helps against Fungous Diseases
Pumpkin’s healing properties have been known for a long time. It is traditionally used for treating, for example, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol level and cancer. Scientists discovered recently that pumpkin skin contains strong antifungal proteins which can fight many fungous infections effectively.
These proteins are reported to keep down more than 10 types of harmful funguses including Candida. According to a study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry the proteins extracted from pumpkins fight funguses responsible for vaginal fungous infections effectively too.
Scientists are hopeful that pumpkin antifungal proteins can pave the way for creating new natural medicaments for curing fungous infections.
