Making Apple Amber Pie
The pie comes out soft, juicy, flavorful and not too sweet. It has much filling and just enough dough.
We had sweet apples, so we didn’t add any sugar. If the apples you get are not very sweet, you can sprinkle them with some sugar before you bake the pieces.
Ingredients for Apple Pie
for the filling
- Sour-sweet 6-7 apples: about 1.5 kg.
- Butter: 50 gr.
- A handful of hazelnuts.
for the dough
- Flour: 150 gr.
- Eggs: 3
- Sugar: 100 gr.
- Butter: 50 gr.
- Baking powder 1 tsp
- A pinch of saffron and cinnamon.
Recipe for Apple Pie
- If you wish, you can peel the apples, but they will be more flavorful with the peel on. Just make sure they are clean by washing them in hot water. Dry them and cut into pieces, getting the core out.
- Take a 25-cm form, cover the bottom with parchment, put pieces of butter over the bottom.
- Put out apple pieces fan-wise in two layers. Bake for about half an hour at 355 degrees.
- Whip up eggs with sugar, soft butter, saffron, cinnamon, add the sifted flour with baking powder and knead dough.
- Drizzle chopped nuts over the baked apples and pour the dough on top.
- Put into the oven for another 30-40 minutes.
- Take the pie out and let it cool down in the form.
- After that turn the form over on a plate and get the pie out.
