Ginger is Good for Sportsmen

The wholesome qualities of ginger has been known for a long time. It has been used for centuries as a cure for indigestion and cold. Scientists from the University of Georgia discovered that ginger root relieves muscle pains and inflammation resulting from workouts and other sport activities.

Professor Patrick O’Connor stated that the results of the research show that the relieving effect is even greater if ginger undergoes thermal treatment similar to when you cook dishes.

The study included two experiments involving 75 volunteers. The experiments revealed that the daily intake of 2- 3 grams of ginger during 10 days alleviated physically-induced muscle pains by 25%.

This makes great news for sportsmen who know that muscle pains and inflammation are the most common kinds of workout injuries.
