We all know that wine in moderate quantities – like a glass of wine daily – can be beneficial for health. But scientists have recently discovered that the intake of wine can diminish the risk of depression.
Those who drink alcohol in moderate quantities, that is, from 5 to 15 grams per day which make a small glass of wine, are less likely to suffer from depression and heart diseases.
Spanish researchers had worked with 2,683 men and 2,822 women for 7 years investigating depression and cardiovascular risks; their study was published in BMC Medicine.
Nevertheless scientists point out that a higher intake of alcohol results in an opposite effect.
