The World Pasta Day
The end of October greets the celebration of the World Pasta Day. Pasta has become a passion in 50 countries all over the world where it is regarded the nation’s favorite food. The wholesome qualities and economic advantages of macaroni dishes are highly appreciated by millions of consumers.
Pasta is the dominant symbol of the Italian cuisine where it exists in over 500 kinds. The World Pasta Day events were held in Rome.
Italy remains the world’s leading producer that consumes and exports the greatest quantity of macaroni products. Every Italian eats 26kg of pasta yearly.
The country produces about 3,247 tons of pasta each year. Germany alone imports 19% of Italian macaroni. The demand on pasta in the last year has grown by 54% in Russia and by 61% in China. But it is in Saudi Arabia that the demand rocketed to whooping 135%!
In Italy pasta is looked upon as the first food in all senses. Italians believe that pasta can remedy all troubles and they would fall ill should if they quit eating it every day.
