Are Mushrooms Healthy?

Don’t neglect mushrooms on the grounds that they are poor in nutrients. Almost all mushrooms contain selenium which is necessary for our immune system. Low selenium level is linked with a higher risk of developing infectious diseases and cancer.

For example, niacin and riboflavin are found in champignons.

Niacin is nicotinic acid or vitamin B3. It is necessary for many metabolic processes. It takes part in hematogenesis, increases hemoglobin level. It is needed for proper functioning of the central nervous system.

Riboflavin is vitamin B2. It is healthy for eyes, improves cell respiration and takes part in the synthesis of erythrocytes, fat, carbohydrate and protein reactions.

These substances play their role in strengthening the health of the whole immune system. There was a research that established that mushrooms have also antibacterial and antiviral properties. Some mushrooms which grow on trees have a strongly marked anti-tumor effect. For example, oyster mushrooms contain beta-glucan which is known for its anticancer properties.

Besides, mushrooms contain many mineral substances, proteins while being low-calorie. It is important for those who wish to lose weight and be always slim.

Note: Use only young and fresh mushrooms to get the greatest benefit. Old mushrooms absorb undesirable elements from the ground and atmosphere like a sponge and accumulate toxins.
