Fish Intake Lowers Diabetes Risk
People who eat fish regularly as the main source of animal protein have a lower glucose level in the blood, as reported in the study published in Nutrición Hospitalaria. Researchers from the Spanish University of Valencia write that regular fish intake diminishes the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
Diets with a large percentage of red meat produce the opposite effect – they are conducive to a heightened diabetes risk, heart problems and gaining weight.
