Red Wine is Advisable for the Japanese
Japan people have been urged to drink red grape wine as a means to neutralize toxic radioactive substances.
A research carried out at University of Pittsburg School of Medicine back in 2008 proved that resveratrol, a natural antioxidant found in red wine, protects cells from radiation.
Professor Joel S. Greenberger, chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology, said that red wine resveratrol renders a good assistance in the treatment of radiation sickness that destroys blood cells, as well as the cells of the gastrointestinal tract, the reproductive system. The DNA also gets damaged.
