The Cabbage Pie Recipe
This is a pie baked from yeast dough which is good with all kinds of fillings. We made it with cabbage, carrot and sweet pepper, it turned out just fine!
Ingredients for dough
- 0.42 pt milk
- 0.8 lb flour
- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 0.05 lb yeast
- salt, sugar to taste
Ingredients for filling
- 1 lb cabbage
- 1 carrot
- 1 sweet pepper
- 1 onion
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
Recipe for Cabbage Pie
- Cut the vegetables into cubes. Fry onion, then carrot and pepper, in about 5 minutes add cabbage and tomato paste. Salt and stew until ready.
- Dissolve yeast in some warm milk, add an egg, oil, sugar and salt to taste.
- Knead soft non-sticky dough adding flour gradually. Put it into a bowl, cover up with a film and leave it to swell up.
- As soon as it has gotten twice its size, place it on the worktable sprinkled with flour. Roll it out and put it in a pre-oiled form so that the edges rise above the rims. Leave some dough to make stripes.
- Put the filling in the center and turn in the edges of the dough. Decorate with dough strips on top.
- Bake in an oven pre-heated to 356 degrees for about 25 minutes.
